Piston and attached tube rigging in Maya

This "Monarch" character's mechanical arm and attached tube were rigged using only simple orient and point constraints with a couple smartly placed reference joints. By selectively applying the skinning weights and constraints axis, it all comes together pretty nicely - and since it doesn't use Set Driven Keys, it's a very easy system to replicate in any other 3D application.
