The Knicks and Rockets were said to be closing on a Melo trade involving 4 teams, but the Knicks have since paused the trade and want to see if Melo will consider staying with the Knicks.

The Knicks have hired former Sacramento Kings SVP, Scott Perry as their new GM. Will his hire change Carmelo's mind about wanting to leave the Knicks? Plus more Knicks free agency news Knicks free agency rumors, and Carmelo Anthony trade rumors.

Here are my thoughts on the latest Melo trade rumors to the Rockets.

Why the Knicks Should Trade Carmelo

I believe the Knicks should trade Carmelo and go wtih a complete youth rebuild. As much as Carmelo played well, the team has been languishing for years. It's time for a fresh start and time for Melo to try win a ring somewhere else.

Why the Knicks Shouldn't Trade Carmelo

The Knicks shouldn't trade Melo unless they get a good package from Houston that includes draft picks and expiring contracts. The Knicks should not feel forced to trade him. If they do not get a good offer, the Knicks shouldn't trade Carmelo.

Question of the day: Will Carmelo be traded to Houston? Or will he stay with the Knicks? Will the Knicks trade Carmelo now or by the trade deadline? Comment below!
