Kataphatic, sometimes spelled Cataphatic uses positive language and mental imagery in meditation, song, and prayer.  

Apophatic is the opposite of Kataphatic.  It meditates upon God by elimination, defining what God is not, often arriving at the place of realizing or conceding that God is simply Love.  It can be felt more then intellectualized.  

An Iconoclast destroys relics and icons used in religious worship.  Accompanying this is the belief of the individual that God does and will directly intervene and punish for the inappropriate use of icons and relics.  Perhaps what the controversy told us about the theology of believers at the time was the most important discovery of the saga.  

Speculative emphasizes encountering God with ones mind and illumination and connection to or about God is intellectual in nature.  

Propitiation is the act, usually legal, of pleasing or appeasing a spirit or God.  In this context one considers the use of the word in Romans chapter 3. 

The view of Affective theology, more specifically Trinitarian Affective Theology, is the idea that the foundation for any belief in God is love, connection from the heart with the father, son, and Holy Spirit connected and defined by harmony and perfect love.
