The happy owner who loves this 9-year-old dog very much is taking the dog home on the same day surgery.

Rimadryl pain-killers were prescribed for 4 days. The extracted carnaissal tooth is shown to the owner. The dog had antibiotics for a few days earlier.

To reduce his veterinary costs for the heartlander, no blood test or X-rays were performed to confirm carnaissal tooth abscess in this 9-year-old Jack RussellXShetland.

This video shows the early development of the carnaissal tooth abscess. Just a swelling which did not go away for the past 2 weeks. With time, there would be a hole below the right eye, with pus discharging out and the wound not healing, as you can see in other videos at www.toapoayohvets.com/videos.htm. In this dog, the swelling disappeared 5 days later as there was a haematoma after extraction of the tooth. The other teeth are strong and were scaled. Yearly dental check up and scaling would have prevented this loss of carnaissal tooth.
