The hamster 16 hours post surgery after the first video (Part 1) outdoors. He was nervous and did not want to be handled but now he is quite happy being left in his own small cage. It is best not to do ear and groin surgeries together as this may stress the dwarf hamster leading to death. Anaesthesia was 0.02 ml Zoeletil 50 IM. The hamster took a longer time to recover as he is thin. No owner wants a "dead" hamster with a completion of 2 surgeries as preferred in this case (to save money). Hamster vets must take the interests of the hamster first rather than convenience or income generation from the owner's wish to have combined surgeries. Deaths on the operating table ruin the vet's reputation and so 2-stage anaesthesias and surgeries are advised to optimise chances of survival of the small rodent. .
