loudlabs.com EDMONTON, ALBERTA CANADA - A 3-alarm apartment fire in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada from Friday night August 11th. The fire started at approx 6:00PM in the northeast Edmonton community of Fraser. Over a dozen fire units from across the north end of the city responded along with Edmonton EMS and Edmonton Police! Pump 18 and Super-tanker 18 were first due and arrived on scene within a few minutes. The apartment complex houses some 35 units and the fourth floor was a total loss. The apartment had a shared attic that allowed the fire to spread to other units. Fire crews that I spoke with said that everyone was accounted for and made it out uninjured however there was talk that a couple of family pets may have been lost! It took crews about an hour to get the blaze under control and it is expected that fire units will remain on scene throughout the night. At 8:30PM there were still firefighters actively dousing hotspots, and there were two tower-ladders flowing water from above. I have no damage estimate, however I heard there is a large amount of smoke and water damage throughout the structure! The fire response included multiple pumper companies, three tower-ladders, a rescue company, the Dangerous Goods Response Team and the city's Fire Mobile Command Unit. Edmonton and Strathcona County EMS responded, as well as the Edmonton Police Service.
