Zimbabwe government highlights peace in the country to attract tourists

Zimbabwe is promoting its peaceful status in hopes of attracting more tourists. Travel and tourism continue to be vital for economic growth. The government has embarked on a drive to market the peace that prevails in the country to attract visitors sceptical about traveling to Southern Africa. The upgrading of the country's airports -- mainly the Victoria Falls International Airport last year -- has generated renewed interest in the country's tourism industry. The government has lined up several activities this year to help to market the various destinations in order to generate revenue.
