Rarely used section of branch line railway finally sees a train! Rusty railroad branch gets a short local freight by Norfolk Southern T51. The bulkhead flatcar was being taken to a customer in Peebles to load untreated railroad ties. The tank cars are just along for the ride in order to prevent an extra run around move. The tank cars came from a customer at Clare Yard , Mariemont and will get a run around move in Peebles. NS east at Seaman Ohio 8-29-13 1:30pm. This line has been cut and this part is now dead as of 4-25-14. Update: This line reopened here March 20, 2015 by the Cincinnati East Terminal Railway CCET, owned by Frontier Rail. As of late 2018, CCET changed its name to Cincinnati Eastern Railroad and their primary owner changed their name to Columbia Rail. This section of the line rarely gets any action since there are no customers past this point other than car storage and the now defunct shipping of ballast from the Plum Run quarry. ( The quarry could possibly start back up in the future for track ballast. ) CCET leases the line from MP9 to about MP78.45 but they rarely go past MP61 since there are no customers. The last half of 2018 there were no railcars east of MP61 and no train movements. I have videos of trains all the way out to Plum Run so see my playlists . Thanks for watching!
