Part Two: Power to the People! June 27,2016 Vancouver Washington--Tesoro- Savage oil terminal hearing rally.

There is no mitigation for safety in regards to highly volatile fuel
trains traveling by rail through the Columbia River Gorge.

There are up to five miles of rail inaccessible to fire first res ponders in Skamania County that will be left to burn.

The proposed construction of the largest oil terminal in North America for Vancouver WA is bad for business for the jobs that are already here. This proposal is a bad idea for The City of Vancouver because its citizens, animals, air and waterways will have to bear many unnecessary risks.

In addition Oregon and Washington's economies are heavily rooted in tourism therefore dependent on the health and natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest Bio-region as a vacation destination not as a grease spot on the map to avoid.

The Tesoro Savage rail and marine oil Terminal will increase highly volatile Bakken Crude Oil train traffic by four trains a day traveling through the Columbia River Gorge.

Therefore exponentially increasing the odds of a catastrophic accident that has the capacity to eviscerate any town along the rail. Vancouver WA is the fourth largest populated City in the State .
Washington, Oregon and Idaho have unjustly scapegoated and killed sea lions and cormorants for eating fish while highly volatile oil trains place all our communities at risk.

On the other hand the sea lions and seabirds are merely consuming what they need to survive, and they are not fattening up their off shore stock portfolios like the oil tycoons.

Moreover the wildlife threaten nobody while Bakken oil trains place everything at risk. In addition the sea lions and seabirds have been starving along the west coast for the last five years while Warren Buffet and Multi National Corporations bank accounts have never been fatter.

Sea lions and Cormorants have unjustly had to pay with their lives for consuming some fish out of the Columbia River below the Bonneville Dam while highly volatile oil trains pass by the Bonneville Dam daily placing salmon, people and the watersheds at risk.

All human and non human animals along the rail on both sides the Columbia River ought not have to inherit the horrendous unmitigated risks involved with Bakken fossil fuel expansion.

In the end humans must learn to share because they have many other food and habitat choices that the sea lions, otters, herons, beavers, resident orcas, and seabirds do not.

It is time to leave the fossil fuels in the Ground and demand that Oregon, Washington and Idaho stop scapegoating and killing sea lions for consuming as little as one fish in five years out of the Columbia River.

Continuing to provide a smoke screen for big oil and to allow them to scapegoat sea lions and the wild salmon will not save the salmon or any of us.

All it takes is one oil spill and the potential is there to decimate the Columbia River habitat for half a century rendering it uninhabitable for fish and so many others that currently call the Pacific Northwest bio region home.
