The news is OU announced last night it signed a deal with the Jordan Brand to outfit football team and the men’s and women’s basketball team.

Here’s a link to photos of the announcement and the J’s given to the players on the Sooner Sports website. OU and Jordan brought in Blake Griffin to deliver the news to the football and basketball teams.

In 2014 OU re-upped with Nike for 10 years and the equivalent of a $4 million signing bonus. Means forJordan Brand to have happened a restructuring deal needed to occur, even as Jordan is a sister brand to Nike. Which means both sides wanted this done.
