Murang’a deputy county commissioner among 5 charged with corruption

Murang'a deputy county commissioner Kepha Marube is among five people who have been charged at the Kisumu court with seven counts of corruption. 

Marube alongside four other officials of the siaya county government including the county secretary and procurement officer have been charged with forgery, illegal procurement and abuse of office. The officers are accused of having swindled more than 20 Million from Siaya county. At the time Marube was a deputy county commissioner in Siaya. The accused through their lawyers, pleaded not guilty and requested for reasonable personal bond. They were released on cash bail of one million kenya shillings and a surety of two million Kenya shillings each. The case will be mentioned on 2nd may and the hearing will start on June 8th.
