SYSTEMIZATION (SEITON) Systemization under the 5S methodology implies setting the necessary items at the workplace in an order of use. To practice systemization at the workplace we need to follow the steps below; • Every item at the workplace must have a name, so put the name on every item. No item is left without a name. • Every item must have a serial number, no item left without a serial number or code. • Every item must have the location or the address on it where it is placed. • Maintain a logbook according to the name, serial number, and place of the item. • Always mark an entry in the logbook, the name of the person who is taking away the item, and the place where it is being used. Systemization ensures the quick retrieval of the desired item when it is required.
