Suspect in rape and kidnapping in Mt. Healthy arrested

MT. HEALTHY, Ohio (WKRC) - Police have arrested a man accused of raping and kidnapping a woman a month ago in Mt. Healthy. Adrian Hutcherson, 20, was arrested overnight in Colerain Township asleep in a car police say he had broken into in Colerain Township.

Mt. Healthy Police first put out a sketch of the man who broke into a home on May 20 on Forest Avenue. Police say he used a rock to break a window and open the front door. He picked up a pair of scissors and threatened to killed the victim.

That man then forced the victim into the basement by choking her. He then sexually assaulted the woman for hours. The victim said he forced her to shower and he washed the blanket on which she was assaulted.

At some point, the victim told police her rapist got distracted. She ran from the home wearing just a towel and screaming for help. As neighbors helped her, a number of people saw the man run from the home.

Despite the precautions, police identified a suspect in the attack as Hutcherson. Mt. Healthy Police say he avoided arrest for a while while living on the streets.

At 3:43 a.m., police found in a car intoxicated and asleep in a car on Fernhaven Court. He's also charged with disorderly conduct and falsification in connection to his arrest on June 25. He'll be in court on Tuesday.

Police thanked the public for calling in tips and keeping the incident going on social media.
