Hurricane Irma Update! Up to 7000 Tourists to be rescued by Cruise Ships Norwegian Royal Caribbean  Stranded Tourists in St Thomas, St Maarten and other Caribbean Islands are going to be evacuated with the help of Norwegian Cruise Lines, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines and Carnival Cruise Lines.
Urgently needed supplies such as water, medicines, clothing and food will be delivered by the cruise ships and stranded tourists will be placed onboard the ships.  Industry sources have been quoted to say that a number of Cruise ships are empty and awaiting the go ahead to visit the Caribbean Islands that were most affected by Hurricane Irma.  Cruise passengers that were supposed to be dropped off in Florida ports have been kept on the ships longer until the storm passes Florida.  All airports in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Tampa and Orlando areas have been closed due to the unsafe conditions.  Up to 350,000 cruise passengers come to Florida every week, most by air.  All Cruises departing Florida have been cancelled or modified and Cruise Ship operators are giving updates to all passangers and travel agencies.
