CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- A plan to bring an eventual end to brownouts throughout Cincinnati's fire districts lands at city council's door today.Cincinnati Fire Chief Richard Braun officially presented his proposal to keep more firefighters on city streets. The fire department currently closes firehouses daily to meet the city's budget. The number of brownouts is already down from five to two daily, thanks to a newly graduated class of fire recruits, but they're still about 50 firefighters short of eliminating brownouts completely. Chief Braun hopes to find another federal grant to pay for two years of new recruits and salaries. The full council will hear the proposal later this week.
