CINCINNATI (Deb Dixon) -- The burglaries around Mt. Lookout and Hyde Park started mid-December 2014.Burglaries happened in homes during the day while people were at work. Thieves took jewelry, electronics, and a bottle of bourbon signed by UK Coach Calipari. Cincinnati police have been pushing for people to say something. That's what started the investigation that stopped the burglaries. Many electronics were gone, a safe was pried open and a kindle, glasses, and iPad were all stolen. Jewelry, and lots of it, was some of the stolen property found inside a home on Delta Avenue. Stolen property was recovered after a man on Grandin saw a man with a rake in pouring rain going door to door. So the man on Grandin called the cops. The stolen items were found in a house on Delta where Roger Lanter and girlfriend Melinda Gleason lived. Lanter had a warrant for unrelated the burglaries. Detectives decided to serve it. They knocked on the door, Gleason let them in and Lanter surrendered right away. For now, both Lanter and Gleason have been charged with receiving stolen property. Burglary victims are claiming their property. For some victims though, it was too late. The Kukanzas home was burglarized. They're hoping some of their property at the police station is theirs."See something? Say something." Police say it's about trusting your instincts, then letting them figure it out. The clue that could make a difference could be as insignificant as a rake. Burglary victims who had serial numbers from their electronics were able to get their items back right away. The stolen property is at the police station on Erie Avenue. Some of the items have not been claimed. Follow Deborah Dixon on Twitter @crimestopperdeb, and LIKE her on Facebook.
