Kenya Airways has started flying four times weekly from the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, JKIA, to Mauritius' main international airport. The non-stop flight will depart from Nairobi every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. Tourism is one of the industries that is expected to receive a major boost from this latest move by the national carrier. The launch of direct flights to the island nation is the 53rd destination overall. The new route is strategic to Kenya Airways as it plans to market it to U.S. citizens now that direct flights are imminent. Mauritius is often considered a dream holiday destination for many tourists world over.
