In this clip, David shares his experience of how he improved his financial situation after hitting a financial rock bottom.

He points out that much of the current advice on offer is inherently unachievable for many people, and he outlines a simple, daily process that helped him to improve his financial situation and start on the road to success in terms of the ‘flow’ of money.

He talks about how it was to fear the arrival of the bailiffs, and how satisfying it feels when you take your power back and you deal with the bills piling up, and you begin to live in a financially manageable way. He describes how he faced a stark choice in the supermarket at the point of change - food or cigarettes. He talks about daily awareness of your financial situation - writing down what you’ve spent.

This is not about budgeting, but getting a true picture of your actual position financially. He discusses the scary but freeing process of cutting up your credit cards, and taking a step forward into a life where you no longer feel at the mercy of financial behaviours that demoralise and undermine the life you want to build. He suggests using cash as much as possible, rather than cards.

Finally, he talks about beginning to save small amounts of money, and gaining a sense of mastery in your financial situation, once you begin to work with the flow of money.
