loudlabs.com GARDEN GROVE - At 1:01 PM, Garden Grove Fire Department was dispatched to a residential house fire in Garden Grove with reports of a 2nd house on fire. Upon arrival, units were able to confirm that a 2nd house was beginning to catch on fire and requested a 2nd Alarm, and more units were dispatched to the fire. Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the house with flames showing. The occupant of the home, an elderly woman, was able to safely evacuate. She received minor injuries but was treated on scene and decline transport to the hospital. Firefighters had difficult entry though the house and sent out a emergency dispatch after finding live power lines down in the backyard. After more than +30 minutes of aggressive firefighting, the fire was knocked down. Firefighters were also able to find important memorabilia that belonged to the elderly occupant, which included photos of her husband and a folded flag. The items were found by a Garden Grove Firefighter and reunited with the occupant.
