Sockeye bonanza!

Adams River, near Kamloops, B.C., is teeming with sockeye salmon this year. These salmon swam over 400 kilometres from the ocean to return this river. In total, 35 million sockeye are returning to B.C. - the biggest return since 1913. These salmon have a four year life cycle. Scientists think this year's record return is due to a high survival rate of the 2006 brood year.
