Peace Returns To Adamawa as PDM Candidtate Visits Mubi and Maiha

Contrary to recent fears that elections might not be held in Adamawa State in view of the problem of insurgency, situation reports indicate that the atmosphere in the state is now calm especially friendly for political activities gearing towards the elections.

It is in the light of this that Muhammad Hamzah Sheikh reports the campaign tour of the Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Movement (PDM), Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Modibbo which took him to Mubi North, Mubi South and Maiha local government areas where peace has been restored.

This also confirms that most people in insurgency-ravaged Areas in Adamawa state have returned to their homes.
 
Modibbo, who met with the citizens of the three local government areas, asked the people to turn out en mass to collect their permanent voters cards.

He called on the citizens of the three local government areas to vote in the   

February elections for PDM to effect change in the state.

Modibbo donated 100 bags of rice each and other relief materials to cushion the effect of insurgency of people in the three local government areas. 
 
He said if elected as the governor of the state, his government will see to rapid functional development of the people
He asked them not to lose hope as the state and Nigeria in general will overcome whatever security challenges being faced today.

The fact that many of them returned home he said shows that elections can hold in this state.

He said the visit of the PDM campaign team underscores that the party indentifies with the people of the local government areas.

He urged  them to continue to be law-abiding and be their brother’s keepers.

The visit of Modibbo to the three local governments was indicative of return of normalcy in most parts of the state which inverably allow for political activities in the area and for the 2015 polls to hold.

It could be recalled that Governor Bala Ngilari had at a stakeholders session organized by INEC on Tuesday called for the postponement of the general elections.
