Some friends invited us to Disney's Polynesian for some dinner at Ohana and to watch the fireworks from their Magic Kingdom view room. It was awesome! The video doesn't do it justice! I love the Polynesian Resort! It's an amazing trip to the South Pacific. Brings me right back to our trip to Hawaii, last year. The food at Ohana was amazing, as usual....provided you're a meat eater. :) It's a lot like a Brazilian steak house with a Polynesian theme and games for the kids. The July 4th Disney fireworks were great, as always, with some additional elements for the holiday. Many Disney guests rented the pontoon boats from Disney to take them out on the Seven Seas Lagoon to watch the fireworks and many more Disney guests watched from the Polynesian Resort beach, although the Polynesian was much more strict about access, this year. Guests had to have wrist bands (again, reminding me of Hawaii) to use the pool area and there was definitely no non-guest parking at the resort. Many people did what we did and parked in the Magic Kingdom parking lot and walked over to the Polynesian from the Ticket and Transportation Center. The traffic after the fireworks wasn't too bad, but the Magic Kingdom stayed open for several hours after the show. I'm sure this helped the traffic issues a bit.
