A microphone held at the negative terminal of the power battery picks up a high-pitched whine while the Rosemary Ainslie circuit runs. On the scope both batteries are watched at once: the charging battery climbs from 13.37 V to 13.61 V over the clip while the power battery falls from 12.53 V to 12.43 V. The ratio of oscillation burst to total pulse is discussed as a tuning target.
