Neno Evangelism Centre head pastor James Maina Ng'ang'a, has been acquitted of the murder of Mercy Njeri along the Naivasha - Nakuru highway. Nakuru Chief Magistrate Godfrey Odour said the prosecution had failed to prove that he caused her death by dangerous driving. Ng'ang'a had been charged alongside three others, including two police officers. They were facing four charges, including causing death by dangerous driving , failing to report an accident, giving false information to a person employed in the public service and conspiracy to defeat justice. He had denied all charges. Patrick Baya who is the Tigoni Base Commander was charged with neglecting official duty contrary to section 128 [a] of the penal code.
