Banana farmers in KZN South Coast concerned about BBTV

Banana farmers along the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast are concerned about the Banana Bunchy Top Virus or BBTV that's still prevalent in rural areas. Affected banana farmers were instructed to treat and remove the crops in an attempt to curb the spread of the virus. In 2015, the Agricultural Research Council noted the virus along the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast - after banana plant samples sent by a commercial farmer in the area tested positive for BBTV.
