Kenya will be among the first African countries to benefit from the 60 billion US dollar support to Africa. Having initiated mega infrastructural projects under the Belt and Road framework, Kenya is likely to receive a sizeable chunk of finances from the kitty targeting 8 cooperation areas in the continent. Indeed, President Uhuru Kenyatta who was part of a group of leaders who formalized the formation of Belt and Road, held talks in this regard with Chinese leader Xi Jinping on Tuesday, before the end of the Forum on Africa -China Cooperation FOCAC summit.
