***No hatchery pacific lamprey have been introduced into the Columbia River estuary and SLDB thinks it ought to stay this way.

Moreover, Sea Lion Defense Brigade (SLDB) would like to see emphasis placed on habitat restoration over hatchery supplementation.

In addition, the pacific lamprey have survived for 450 million years in the Columbia River estuary. Despite the extreme human duress inflicted upon them by ODFW's chemical attacks, US ACOE's non friendly to Pacific Lamprey dam building on the Columbia/ Snake Rivers, and the BPA's flow, or no flow;of warming, PCB, DDT, dioxins, furans, pharmaceutical, pesticide and herbicide polluted waters spilled over their dams that have forced many species to move closer towards extinction.

Therefore SLDB will like to honor the spirit and benevolent life force of the Pacific Lamprey and thank them for their many many many gifts and good works that they as a key stone species have contributed in creating life in the waters of the Pacific Northwest.

Therefore as a testament and in honor of Pacific Lamprey and their sheer determination to populate and survive when their passage and habitat conditions improve such as removing man made barriers that injure and block fish passage and ensuring toxic remediation of the waterways and river-sediment shows that Pacific Lamprey will continue to survive. If Pacific lamprey are merely given the opportunity and access to spawning habitat that meets their biological needs that they will prosper and that these amazing eel like fish--probably, do not need and their populations can be threatened by CRITFC's proposed supplementation- so called help.

Did you know?

ODFW only invests 1 % of their operating budget on habitat in Oregon and wildlife despite what the purveyors of hatchery fish think--wildlife NEEDS habitat to survive.

In addition to ODFW investing only 1% into Oregon's wildlife habitats that this state agency spends ten times that amount on waging a tax payer funded war upon important native non human predators and to support their hatchery supplementation.

Every time PGE ratepayers turn on their lights and pay their electric bills--- they are unbeknownst to most that they are subsidizing ODFW to kill sea lions, wild salmon and pacific lamprey over ODFW investing into what all wildlife actually "need." To be able to survive all human and non human animals need access to food and clean water, access to safe habitat and their populations improve when habitat conditions improve.

Moreover through measurable actions and cost effective habitat restoration efforts for example toxic remediation of Oregon's road and storm water run off and not a tax payer and CRITFC funded war upon important native non human animal predators in the Pacific Northwest.

Investing into passage and habitat will improve conditions to support wild fish and other important key stone species in the Pacific Northwest bioregion because history shows that waging "war" on important native wildlife does not work to increase or protect populations of wild fish.

Habitat Restoration over Hatcheries!

Help STOP ODFW's tax payer funded war on important native species in Oregon. Demand that Oregon stops scapegoating and killing sea lions by calling Governor Kate Brown

at (503) - 378-4582

Humans have many other food and habit options that sea lions, and other marine mammals, pacific lamprey and wild salmon do not.

Thanks for taking action, for the sea lions!
