The third climb of La Marmotte La Marmotte is the world’s most famous cyclosportive event. The route takes you over four mountains in the French Alps: the Col du Glandon, the Col du Télégraphe, the Col du Galibier and Alpe d’Huez. Take on the challenge and climb them one by one. The Col du Galibier (2646 m) is the toughest part of La Marmotte. The ride starts hard out of the ski resort town of Valloire but then flattens out for a while before a steady valley ride to the well-known bend at Plan Lachat. Things suddenly change here and the road becomes much steeper. A few bends further up and you’re into the snow line. It’s a fairly hard climb now with almost no place to rest and the sight of the top so far away. After finally reaching the summit you descend down to the nearby Col du Lautaret where your epic ride comes to an end.
