MIAMISBURG -- A massive hack-attack has hit the nation's second largest health insurer, Anthem, affecting at least 80 million customers. Including perhaps, you. Getting answers is no easy feat. "This is a hot mess," ABC22 Producer and former Anthem customer Reba Chenoweth said Thursday (February 5, 2015). The crooks stole birthdays, social security numbers, home addresses and employment information. No credit card information was accessed in the attack, "People can do anything, they can open a new credit card with your social security number! That's what concerns me," Chenoweth continued. The company has created a hotline and website dedicated to answering customer questions, but after to speaking to countless representatives Reba says she has more questions than when she started out. Anthem says it will notify affected customers within two weeks and offer free credit monitoring and ID protection services, but for some that's not comfort enough. How do I know that that notice is going to get to me? I'm just going to have to wonder for the next months, 2 months, 6 months to see if Iv'e been compromised or not? Chenoweth added. I just bought my first home with my husband. We're thinking about starting a family. This is detracting from that. I don't have tiem to think about my future and the dreams I have becasue I have to mess with this runaround. The FBI is now investigating the attack. Anthem has established a website for members to access information about the breach. There also is a toll-free number for current and former members to call, 877-263-7995.
