I am pretty sure you have heard this quote from inspirational speakers or motivational gurus or great motivational material that is circulated online. Even though these quotes and these pieces of advice are given with the right intention and the right agenda in mind - sometimes these pieces of advice can back fire.

What I have personally come to realize in my life is a successful brand should know when to give up, which war to fight in, whom to pick a fight with and for what reasons. And one should always get into a fight if the chances of success are greater than the effort and the sacrifices made.

Yes, there will always be great, inspirational, motivational and incredible stories being told about people who have achieved greatness and who have come back from the dead. But those are far fewer than you and I can count on our fingers. So it is absolutely necessary for a person to be realistic about life, about his chances to succeed and yes - how long should one keep on keeping on.
