Covington Police issue arrest warrant for man accused of crashing into Roebling Bridge

COVINGTON, Ky. (WKRC) - Covington Police say they've issued an arrest warrant for the man accused of crashing a bootleg cab into a steel beam on the Roebling Suspension Bridge.

Police charged 24-year-old Demarko Page with falsely reporting an incident, operating a motor vehicle on a suspended or revoked license and failing to maintain insurance. 

Page is accused of crashing a bootleg cab into part of the bridge on March 20, causing heavy damage that resulted in the bridge having to be closed until repairs are done. He's also accused of fleeing the scene and leaving behind an injured passenger.

Police said Page initially reported that he was the passenger in the vehicle during the accident and that the driver fled on foot. An investigation revealed he was actually the driver.

The Kentucky Department of Transportation says the bridge could remain closed until June.
