Jim Murray previews his talk on what unity means in an energy conversion system. Aaron Murakami first sets out the SERPS demonstration correctly: about fifty watts of lamps were lit for a net loss of about one watt, because roughly forty nine were returned, which is not the same as one watt lighting fifty. Murray notes both patents have since expired and that he has given his blessing for others to experiment with them. He then goes through the loss mechanisms in a conventional machine, the elliptical rotor and coil placement of his Dynaflux alternator, and why he thinks a persistent measured figure above unity is worth taking seriously.
