These are only going to be guesstimates and if your contractors guessed wrong, this could cost you a lot of money. Try to get written estimate if possible to prevent problems in the future, especially if you're planning on building a house and you don't have a lot of profit in it. One of the biggest problems with people who buy and sell homes for a profit are guesstimates. If you don't have enough experience, you should try to avoid guesstimates and get written estimates that are ready to turn into contracts. Anyone can guess at something, but to give you a written estimate might take a little more time, but at least you will know that you have something you can work with.
