1980s Vision Hire Commercial (Audio Only)

This is a 1980s UK commercial for the Vision Hire television rental company, but I am unclear as to whether it is a radio commercial or the audio from a TV advert.



Mum used to hold jumble sales for her favourite charity back in the late 1980s and this cassette tape was donated in a bag of bric-a-brac for her to sell. It never sold and has remained in our cupboard ever since.

We are unsure of its origins, but I would love to know more about it. One side is titled "Merry Christmas from the Norths" and includes a recording of a group of people singing various Christmas carols and songs. The other side is titled "Jingle Showreel - Nicky & Friends". I'm guessing it was a demo tape that somebody sent round to local radio stations etc. back in the days before MP3s. This side includes recordings of various commercials, some of which I presume to be from radio, others from TV (although I only have the audio, of course). Most are set to famous tunes with very creative original lyrics.
