NMA rejects september 22 as resumption date

The Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, has rejected the Monday September 22nd resumption date given by the federal government to all Primary and Secondary schools due to the Ebola outbreak in Nigeria. Speaking through its National Publicity Secretary, Dr Olawunmi Layaki, the NMA says it expects all schools to remain closed until December or early next year when all Ebola suspects under surveillance would have been cleared and certified free of the virus. The Association says Government should have enough time to follow the standard procedure for containing the virus. It also urged Parents not to be in a hurry to send their children back to school with the recent Ebola Outbreak because if the virus enters any school, it will assume another dimension it argued.
