FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKRC) - Kentucky Attorney General Andy Beshear, who's running for governor, says too many people are crossing into border states to gamble. He sent letters to Kentucky lawmakers, asking them to approve casino games like poker and roulette and fantasy sports and sports gaming. The revenue would be earmarked for the commonwealth's struggling pension system. Beshear says Kentuckians spend more than $1 billion in casinos in neighboring states. "Every state around us is leeching dollars from us, and this is the way we can fund our pensions without raising anyone's taxes," Beshear said. Beshear thinks gaming would add between $200 million and $600 million a year, but Gov. Bevin said he doesn't think an expanded gaming bill will get through the legislature.
