Lil' Santa Stocking You will need... * Two printed copies of the pattern * Two 50x35cm differing Christmas fabrics * 10x30cm piece of red felt * 20cm of ribbon * Fabric & paper scissors * Pinking shears * Sewing Machine & thread * Pins Step 1: Print and cut out one stocking pattern piece and one cuff pattern piece using this link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/3and3quarters/11344680273/in/photostream/ Step 2: Fold in half one of fabric pieces, wrong sides together, and pin on the stocking pattern piece. Carefully cut out around the edges of the pattern piece with fabric scissors. Remove the pins and pattern piece and set aside. Step 3: Repeat the same method with the other piece of fabric. Step 4: Next, fold the red felt piece in half and place the cuff pattern piece on top. Place one edge on fold. Pin in place and carefully cut out around the edges with fabric scissors. Remove the pins and pattern piece. Step 5: Layer the stocking together by placing a lining piece print side down and a top piece print side up. Then place a top piece print side down and a lining piece print side up. Pin all of the layers together. Step 6: Sew around the edges of the stocking using a generous 1/4" seam allowance. Take out the pins as you go. Step 7: Sew down the short open side of the felt piece using a 1/4" seam. Step 8: With pinking shears, carefully cut around the edge of the stocking seam, making sure NOT to cut into any of the stitching. Step 9: Open the felt cuff and slip it over the top of the stocking. Position the cuff so that the edges meet with the top of the stocking. Step 10: Fold ribbon in half and insert it underneath the felt on the outer edge of the stocking. Pin the ribbon and cuff in place. Step 11: Slowly sew the cuff onto the stocking, taking the pins out as you go. Step 12: Turn the stocking right way out, open out the seams and fold down the cuff.
