Confusion reigns over relations between Rabat and Pretoria

South Africa and Morocco may be set to resume diplomatic ties more than a decade after Rabat withdrew its ambassador from Pretoria. It follows reports of a meeting between President Zuma and King Mohammed the Sixth. Back in 2004, former South African president Thabo Mbeki recognised a breakaway region in the Western Sahara -- which Morocco claims as part of its territory.
