12-30-17 WESTLAKE DISTRICT - Around 2200 on 12/29/17, an LAPD Rampart officer was shot in an ambush style attack. She was reported to be shot in the leg. No shots were fired by the officer. The officer was rushed to LA County USC Hospital in unknown condition. LAPD setup a large perimeter around the shooting scene in search for the suspects. One suspect was in custody and the gun used to shoot the officer was found. Officers were still looking for additional suspects at midnight. CHP shut down all the DTLA off-ramps on the SB side of the 110 Freeway in conjunction with LAPD. Traffic was backed up as a result of the large offramp closure. LAPD is handling the investigation.
