*Update* Growing Potatoes In Feed Bags ~ Homesteading Ways

It hasn't been quite 3 weeks since the first video on planting potatoes in feed bags, but 18 days is close enough! They are growing at a terrific rate. I'm very happy so far. The Purple Majesty potatoes have gotten me really excited because not only are they a good long storage potato, but the last time I planted them I didn't do very many and the son and I spiked quite a few of them when we were digging them up. I didn't get to store many at all. I'm going to be adding a few more drainage holes along the sides of the bags now as I add a soil/straw mixture to the bags. We have gotten an overabundance of rain in the last 2 weeks and I don't want my potential harvest to rot. I will also be unfolding the bags a bit, but not all the way. It's hard to wait for the day when I tip the bags over and see how many lovely spuds there are! Remember, I'm hoping for 10 lbs a bag. I think I have about 18 bags planted. It feels like it's going to be a long summer of anticipation! I'm hoping this is my best garden yet when it comes to abundance of storage veggies. We'll see. Keep an eye out for upcoming videos!
