LL = Lowest Level
NI = No Items
IE = Initial Equipment
NA = No Accessories
NES = No Enemy Skills

This battle isn't too different from the LLNMIENA battle, but it's slightly harder thanks to the limited ways of dealing damage. I originally didn't allow Throw when I did LLNIIENA, as you argue that it violates both the NI and IE rule, but it really doesn't. NI means you can't use the Item command and IE means you can't equip new equipment. In other words, throwing weapons doesn't violate any rule more than selling equipment, which I've done in every challenge so far. Besides, without Throw, the battle would only become more luck reliant and not any harder.

The lack of Sadness is also a problem in this battle. Aerith still has it from the Red Dragon battle since I used Mog Dance to replenish MP between the battles, but Cloud and Cait are not so fortunate. Actually, it's only a good thing for Cait, as he gets a limit break much faster, but it's a serious problem for Cloud, as he can't even survive a rock drop on full HP unless he's defending. That means it doesn't take more than a critical hit or a double drop to lose him. You can live without Cloud, as he doesn't do anything anyway, but that makes the battle more luck reliant as Aerith and Cait are more likely to die.

Attack pattern is Rock Drop a random number of times (usually 2 or 3), followed by Cave-in, then repeat. Demon Rush is used when his HP falls below 7500, 5000 and 2500, and you can use this to your advantage as you get a free turn before the attack is used. Petrif-Eye is used randomly, and you have to hope he never uses it on Cait and Aerith as there's no way to cure Petrification. Barrier is needed to reduce damage, and every time it runs out is a critical point where something is bound to go wrong if it happens at the wrong time. Especially the second time.

Making sure only Aerith survives is the hardest part of the battle. Her only attack deals crap damage, so you need to reduce his HP to below that before you can let Cait die. Using Dice is also very risky when he's got less than 2400 HP left, as you might get unlucky and kill him too early. Thankfully, nothing went wrong this time, and I didn't need too many attempts in total.
