Amazon's Alexa has been called racist in the past, as it does not understand many accents.

Accents are hard to understand, even for humans. Accents are distinctive ways of pronouncing a language. They may be  associated with a particular country, area, or social class.

In many cases, even when individuals speak the same language, they have difficulty understanding one another because of their different accents.

Amazon has invented an audio system that is designed to enable people with different accents to communicate with each other more easily. 
For example, when a person with a German accent speaks, the audio system automatically determines the accent based on the location of the speaker, the characteristics of the speech and so on
Then based on a pre-stored translation model, such as German to British accent translation model, the audio system converts the speech into the accent of the listener in real time, allowing the conversation to flow smoothly.

With this technology, Alexa would be able to win hearts across the world. An Englishman, an Irishman, and Alexa walk into the bar and have a great time ever after.
