In the New Testament God has given us a better tool to pray with. Every time e pray in our own known language, our prayer is limited to the amount of knowledge we have, when we pray in tongues, we pray according to God's wisdom, our prayer is exactly according to God's will. We pray mysteries by allowing our spirit to tap into God's heart. There many things that God wants to give us or do through us or do for us but we don't know what they are, they are a mystery. But when we pray in tongues, we are praying the things that are mystery to us but the Holy Spirit has revealed them to us. When we pray in the spirit, we also edify ourselves. When the world's pressures and persecutions an demonic harassments want to weigh us down, we come up victoriously by praying in the spirit. We also intercede for others when we pray in te spiri.
