For many months President Obama has been looking to privatize TVA. Now, after releasing Monday's budget, it looks like he is softening his stance. In Monday's financial report it was announced that the U.S. Office of Management and Budget will continue monitoring TVA's financing. "We have done a very good job over the last couple years to reduce our costs and become much more competitive than we've been," said Hoagland. "Everyone in the valley has worked to demonstrate that model, and I think that's been a recognition for the ratepayers, and the president. Tuesday, a room at the Chattanoogan Hotel was full of stakeholders for TVA from across the valley. They were there for a public forum meeting, and to work on the company's Integrated Resource Plan for the future. "It's basically the types of power plants, and so forth that the TVA will need in the future," said Joe Hoagland, the VP for stakeholder relations. "We've been working on the plan for over a year." The integrated resource plan is expected to be released in March.
