The trees play an essential part in our planetary health. They are crucial to the health of our rivers, stream, and oceans too. Oregon, Washington, and Idaho claim they are serious about saving the ENDANGERED Salmon runs-- so, maybe it is time to STOP cutting down the trees, and exporting our local forests to Eastern Asia, and other parts of the globe? The solution can be growing right under our nose, really. In the spirit of Johnny Appleseed we can plant Hemp, everywhere, to sell to Eastern Asia, and as well teach the world--o k this is revolutionary-- how to grow their own??? Liberating millions from oil to "soil" enriching our lives and improving our health. Hemp can be a profitable exchange for local farms. It can replace the forest clear cuts and any consumptive destruction of the local ecology now employed to meet the economic pressures and demands of the global markets. Hemp grows in half the time the trees take, and hemp can replace a dying timber and cattle industry with thousands of new local jobs--We can STOP cutting trees and growing cows--which will be an actual step in the process of saving salmon because Killing sea lions that consume 1% of the fish, while raising the amount of fish that humans can predate on to a gluttonous 17%-- while cutting the public's forests and destroying the watersheds with cow poop -- will not sustain the Endangered the salmon. Hemp can save the local economy and the local ecology. It provides a very nutritious, protein source, to feed local communities when the fishing industry finally, collapses, due to human greedy extraction, deforestation, radiation and endocrine disrupting pollution. Hemp can even replace big oil to meet our energy needs and that is why it probably remains illegal to grow in the USA eh?
