CINCINNATI (WKRC) - A man accused of assaulting a local bar manager got a new attorney and a continuance on Oct. 31. Lucien Lanier is charged with felonious assault. Lanier's case was continued a seventh time on Wednesday. Investigators say he punched Japp's manager Jen Watts after she witnessed a crash he allegedly caused. Watts fell hard to the pavement and suffered a brain injury. Watts was in court with her family and friends, including Japp's owner Molly Wellmann. "We all are around Jen every day. We all care and love her so much and we hate to see her go through so much stress and so much heartache. This is very difficult, up road battle, for something that didn't need to happen." Lanier's new attorney asked for more time to work on the case. They'll reconvene in two weeks. Wellman says they'll all be back in court to support Watts. Lanier is in jail on a one million dollar bond. Wellman is amazed by Watts. "She's nothing short of a miracle. I'm really impressed by her every day. She gives me strength and inspiration."
