Nigeria to resume payoffs to militants in oil-rich Niger Delta

Over in Nigeria, the government has resumed payments to ex-militants in the Niger Delta. President Muhammadu Buhari hopes to pre-empt further violence in the oil-rich region by resuming payments which had been stopped in February. The recent spate of attacks on oil and gas infrastructure has prompted this policy U-turn. Kelechi Emekalam reports
