by Kevin Sims NewsChannel 9 has obtained the medical examiner's report for Chattanooga murder victim Dana Wilkes. Wilkes went missing in early November of last year and her body was found a few weeks later in the 3700 block of Youngstown Road. The autopsy report confirms that Wilkes had been decapitated and that both of her hands had been cut off. The report lists all of those body parts as 'absent,' showing that they still have not been found.Wilkes' remains were identified by tattoos on her ankles and chest rays. Her husband Tom Wilkes id'd Dana's body. He was in the Hamilton County Jail at the time of her disappearance and has since passed away. The cause of death however is still listed as 'unknown' because a conclusion could not be made by the partial remains. The report also cites 'animal activity' as a reason as to why the cause of death is difficult to determine. In December, Chattanooga police investigators arrested Tony Bigoms for Wilkes' death but have not talked about details in the case. NewsChannel 9 is continuing to gather details in this breaking case and will have more as it develops.
