Water & Gas Main Break With Evacuations / Riverside RAW FOOTAGE

1-8-18 RIVERSIDE - On Monday night January 8th the City of Riverside Fire Department along with the Gas Company and Riverside Public Utilities responded to reports of a possible natural gas leak in the City's La Sierra area.The incident was reported around 8:10pm in the 11200 block of Springway Ct. According to Captain Christopher Stamper with the City of Riverside Fire Department, first arriving resources located a substantial water leak coming up through the street along with a ruptured gas main which was sending a strong odor of natural gas into the air. One home was evacuated and an additional 14 homes were asked to shelter in place for the next 6 hours. No injuries were reported and the cause of the two main breaks is unknown and remains under investigation.
