If you are an Investor and aren’t aware of how the government shutdown & debt ceiling could effect your portfolio, you are in for a surprise. Hours away from another government shutdown in 2018, this made me think about the next black swan event that markets and investors are missing. Alongside trade and the effects on oil, this could be part of the reason why the stock market is crashing lately. Essentially though, this government shutdown, in conjunction with the recent hawkish behavior of the fed, failed china trade deals, trump resignation/impeachment talks, this is all hinting at upcoming issues with the debt ceiling which could lead to the black swan event of another default on USA credit. This is pretty far fetched and borderline conspiracy, but just something to think about, would love your thoughts.
